I just had the most amazing experience with Greg from Gold Coast.  My elderly parent's (ages 93 & 84) heater wouldn't restart after the recent power outage.  I called Greg from Gold Coast for a service call.  Not only was he going to send one of his technicians over TODAY he told us what to try first to see if it would come back on in order to save them a service call fee.   Greg it is so nice to know that there are companies and people like you that can be trusted and value honesty and compassion for the service they provide. Gold Coast was great! We had them out last year to repair (er, replace) a super old unit that had stopped working in the middle of a heatwave. They were prompt and honest. Unfortunately, the unit was so old it was beyond repair, but they worked with our insurance company and everything went so smooth! They ordered a new unit, and also did duct work for us for a pretty reasonable cost. We also had them do the furnace at the same time. Greg and the team were great. They worked quickly and the entire project was done in about a day and a half. The unit blows the coldest air I've ever felt, and we couldn't be more thrilled with the work.

So last night was hot and humid and sure enough, warm air started coming through the vents around 10 pm. I called a couple AC outfits here in Camarillo starting at 8 am this morning and by noon, hadn't heard from anyone. I searched online and saw a lot of 5 stars next to Gold Coast Temp Control so I called immediately. Greg answered on the first ring and stated he was headed down the Conejo Grade towards my direction and will be here within ten minutes. Sure enough, he came, diagnosed the problem immediately (faulty booster), provided a reasonable estimate, installed the new part, and within 20 minutes was out of here leaving me with a working AC unit! Our property management company called GC for an emergency call due to no heat in Dec. Greg called us right away when other company's never even responded due to the busy time of year. They came out the next morning, and informed us that there was asbestos ducting. Unfortunately, the property management company did not answer when he tried to get auth to start work so he had to leave & they went with another HORRIBLE HVAC company. ORIGINAL REVIEW: So Black Friday morning - broken furnace (gas would not ignite).  Reached out via Yelp since the company I typically use was backed up through the weekend. Greg responded quickly and had a technician out by early afternoon. That was great. The technician (Bill) was very efficient and had the problem diagnosed quickly (he didn't even mind me watching).  Faulty circuit board. He says the parts shops close at 2 and he's gotta hustle to get the part so runs out to the truck. I get a call from Greg and it's the normal "can we upsell you on a new furnace?"  He's not pushy and that's fine when I say no. But it's going to be $850. That's a bit of a shock to me. I've had boards replaced before for under $400. After the call, I go read the part number off the board and look it up on Amazon. Between $159 and $199. I call Greg back and we discuss but ultimately it's "it's a cold Friday and I've got other customers waiting. Take it or leave it" (paraphrased). Well even with Amazon, I'm not getting the part before Monday. What am I going to do? The technician returns with the part and the furnace is running in 20 minutes. As pleased as I am, I do feel ripped off on the price. I paid $850 for a $200 part and just under 2 hours from the minute he arrived until the minute I signed the bill. I'll be going back to my regular provider next time. They're not cheap but I've never felt ripped off. UPDATE: the day after my Yelp review posted, Greg called to follow up. Actually he called twice since I wasn't able to talk the first time.  We caught up the next day and he was apologetic about the experience. He explained that they use job-based pricing and although the technician was very fast, the price is fixed. Still, he had already credited me $125 before we even spoke, so I appreciated that. Greg was also apologetic about how I felt during the initial transaction. Although I don't feel an apology entirely erases the experience, I do feel it warrants an update and improvement to the review.

Awesome customer service.  Greg answered all my HVAC inquiry.  He asked me to do a quick assessment of the system first to save me money.  His technician, Bill, fixed the discrepancy that another HVAC company did during the installation of the furnace. These guys are great! Very patient and willing to work with a difficult customer such as myself. They replaced my old system in early 2018, ducting as well. Job turned out great, only took them 1 day and I was very happy with the results and the cost. Believe it or not, I had 14 estimates when I was shopping the job. Glad I went with them. Just recently with this heat wave, I had an issue with the evap coil freezing over and cool air wasn't getting into the house. Called them up with my issue, they sent someone out the next day. Turns out, there was a small leak in the copper line outside the house which drained the coolant from the system. They closed the leak and refilled the system and now its running smooth again, no charge. Can't say enough about Gold Coast, 5 STARS! Great service, great pricing and great results.

In a word, AWESOME! We called Greg and his team after we had a "challenging" experience with another company. Greg took the time to hear what was going on and told me they would come take a look the next business day. Bill showed up right on time. He looked things over, found the problem and let me know what he would do and what it would cost. So thankful for straight forward talk. Once I authorized the job, Bill went right to work. Finished in no time and everything is working great. We are so thankful for Greg and his crew at Gold Coast.
